The Bobcats are already continuing to build for next season after signing infielder Kate Bubela. Bubela spent one season at North Carolina before signing with the Bobcats and has three years of eligibility left.

While with the Tar Heels Bubela appeared in 19 games and started 13 of those games. She had a batting average of .383 and had 18 hits, scored 7 runs, with 6 RBI’s, and one home run. Bubela bats and throws right handed and spent most of her time at shortstop last season. Hannah Earls played the shortstop position for the Bobcats last season and she is one of nine players graduating and leaving the team.

Bubela is from El Campo, Texas where she set the single season and career home run records with 18 and 51 respectively. Some of her other high school accolades include 2020 District 25-4A newcomer of the year, 2021 District 24-4A MVP, 2022 District 24-4A offensive MVP, 2021 and 2023 Texas all-state honoree, and District 25-4A offensive MVP.

Bubela joins the Bobcats 2025 class that already includes Savannah Carter, Emily Fish, Mayson Garrett, Abby Garza, Erin Peterson, Melania Reeves, Bailey Slack and Taylor Wilson.
