The Texas State Bobcats (29-8) will play a one-game series with the Baylor Bears (19-12) at Bobcat Softball Stadium in San Marcos, Texas on Wednesday, April 3rd. The first pitch is scheduled for 6pm (CT) and will be streamed on ESPN+ (Subscription required).

These two teams have played each other a total of 27 times with the Bears ahead in the series. 20-7. The last time they played each other, the Bears walked away with a 3-0 victory in Waco. The game was called in the top of the sixth inning due to a tornado warning. The Bears are currently on a three-game winning streak against the Bobcats and the last time the Bobcats defeated the Bears was on April 14, 2021, in a game where the Bobcats won by a score of 7-5.

The Bobcat’s pitching staff is led by their Ace pitcher Jessica Mullins who is 18-4 this season with an ERA of 0.89 and 133 strikeouts in 141.1 innings pitched. Maddy Azua (6-3, 2.11 ERA, 48 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched) and Karsen Pierce (2-1, 1.84 ERA, 18 strike outs in 26.2 innings pitched) are also part of the regular rotation for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats are led offensively by Sara Vanderford who is hitting .349 with 32 RBI’s (team high), 38 hits, and a team leading 7 home runs. The Bears are led by head coach Glenn Moore who is currently in his 24th season as the Bears head coach. Moore has an overall record of 897-455 at Baylor and has an overall career record of 1036-497 in 27 seasons. Prior to coaching at Baylor, Moore spent 4 years at LSU.

The pitching staff for the Bears is led by RyLee Crandall who is 9-5 on the season with an ERA of 2.24 and has 74 strikeouts in 84.1 innings pitched. Aliyah Binford (5-6, 3.18 ERA, 88 strike outs in 68.1 innings pitched), Kaci West (3-1, 2.42 ERA, 20 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched), and Lexie Warncke (2-0, 3.23 ERA, 7 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched) round out the rest of the pitching rotation for the Bears.
