LUBBOCK, Texas – The Bobcats avenged yesterday’s 8-0 loss to the Miners with a 7-0 win over them as Jessica Mullins throws perfect game.

After a scoreless first inning for both teams, the Bobcats got on the board first after Piper Randolph hit a single and then JJ Smith brought her in with a 2-run home run in the second inning.

In the third inning Hannah Earls reached first after a bunt but would be thrown out attempting to steal second base. Ciara Trahan singled and then Sara Vanderford hit a double to bring her in. Anna Jones then doubled to bring in Vanderford and this led to a Randolph double to bring home Jones. The Bobcats led 5-0 after three innings of play.

We had another scoreless inning in the fourth, but the Bobcats would add 2 more runs in the fifth after a Vanderford double and a 2-run home run by Randolph. This pushed the Bobcats lead to 7 after five innings. This would prove to be the final score as the Bobcats took game 1 of their doubleheader today.

The Bobcats will face New Mexico State later today with the first pitch scheduled for 2pm.
